I would love to know where did you hear that. Sure, the "mordern axe" appears in the trailers, but it may simple be an old texture to some of the already existing axes. Also,I doubt Endnight Games will do something like that, the child(possibly your son) is supposed to be found in the end of the "story mode" and I see little to no reason to him,a 7 year old boy(around that age) be armed with an axe while he is supposed to be locked down in the cave by the mutants. I belive he will be surrounded by some strong mutants not yet implemented to the game, since the developers stated that they will add more mutants in later versions of the game, but cant talk much about it due to spoilers. And for last but not least, the devs also said that you cant dismember any of the mutants limbs, and may add that feature only in later versions of the game.
- I remember reading something in the steam discussions about it being somewhere around the largest village of small huts where the creepy music starts playing. I don't believe the story about finding the son though because I'm sure I've seen all the cages. I will search the village and then explore the caves once again in my next session. --CptMorgen (talk) 09:14, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Trivia Section[]
I believe that the bit of trivia mentioning what axe the in-game modern axe is modeled after is wrong.
The axe shown in game does not have the "wings" on the side of the head characteristic of "modern" style splitting axes. Example: Chopping head on the left, Splitting head on the right It would also be impratical to use a splitting axe to chop trees as depicted in-game.
It also cannot possibly have been modeled after a Lexivon brand axe because the Lexivon V28 only came out around 2020 and is a copy of Fiskars design. So, the Lexivon axe did not exist back then around 2014 when the game first released or before when it was in development.
The in-game axe is modeled after an old (before the all black version) Fiskars X15 chopping axe with the grip color simply changed from orange to yellow.
