Lizard skin is a material and armor item that was added in v0.01 of The Forest.
Gameplay
Lizard Skin is obtained by pressing and holding E on a dead lizard or Crocodile's corpse. The lizard skin can then be left-clicked in the inventory to be worn as armor. One lizard skin fills one bar of the armor bar, like all other armors.
It is not recommended or advised to wear the armor at all times; instead wait until you are prepared for a real fight against the cannibals. Catching on fire while wearing lizard skin can cause damage to the stealth component of the armor. This is another reason why it is best to wait to equip it till needed.
It is recommended that you use lizard skin to make Stealth Armor instead of using it as armor. Stealth armor will provide you with bonus stealth at the cost of 15 leaves per armor piece. Leaves are very common and the bonus stealth can assist greatly in stealth kills, headshots and remaining undetected until you want to engage. Stealth can be seen on the stats page of the survival guide.
