Electrical tape is a material item that was added in update v0.71 of the The Forest.
Gameplay[]
Electrical tape can most commonly be found in suitcases scattered across the peninsula. Tape may also be found it other places; for example, the Film Crew Camp has a piece of tape lying on the ground.
It can be difficult to find while playing on Hard Survival Mode due to the limited amount of suitcases that spawn in the game. If you are in a late game where most suitcases have been opened, you can check caves for suitcases. This will cause the suitcase contents to respawn.
Tape found in locations not inside suitcases, such as within villages and campsites, will respawn when the world reloads. Additionally, tape found in caves will respawn whenever the cave is entered through any entrance. This makes cave spawns a great source of renewable tape if you can find a good spot, since they often spawn alongside rope in these locations.
