Coneflower is an harvestable plant, craftable and consumable item that was added in update v0.01 to The Forest.

Gameplay

The coneflower is a tall, cone-shaped flower, recognizable by its white petals with an orange center. It can be used to craft energy mix, energy mix +, and herbal medicine+. It can be eaten to restore a small amount of health. When gathered, the player has a small chance to collect coneflower seeds, which can be planted in a small garden or a wall planter.

The player can only carry 10 coneflower in their inventory at a time.

Growing Coneflower

• The inventory can hold an unlimited amount of coneflower seeds.
• Growing coneflowers is a great way to make energy mix and energy mix+. The inventory can carry 5 of each type. This will cost 10 coneflower to make a max of both.
• Coneflower is quite common in the game, it is probably the least beneficial plant to place in a garden though it still has large benefits.
• Coneflower seeds can be planted in the Wall planter along with Aloe seeds.
• Coneflower grows rather quickly

Trivia

• The coneflower is based on the real life flower, from the Echinacea species.

Bugs

• In multiplayer, there is a chance that the same herb plant will appear differently for different players. For example, what appears as marigold for one player may appear to be coneflower or aloe for another.

v0.69	Added Hard Survival game difficulty - Slower respawn on gathered herbs. Gathered herbs now take 1 in game day to respawn It is now possible to cook a stew with the cooking pot ! After adding the pot filled with water on a fire, add a choice of 20 ingredients (8 meats, 6 mushrooms, 4 herbs and 1 berry and oysters), it will start a 30s cooking period after which stew will be ready to eat, providing hydration, fullness and other benefits based on recipe. Can remain on the fire up to 10 minutes. Note, you can also add ingredients to pot without water, however this will not provide hydration and will burn food extremely fast.
